In 2026 the global campaign for 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence runs from 25 November to 10 December. Each year Zonta Wangaratta actively promotes awareness for this global event, and this year we have started early!

On Thursday 22 October, Zonta Wangaratta hosted a workshop with the Beechworth Wanderers Cricket teams. Orchestrated by our Advocacy Convenor, the cricketers wore orange Zonta polos and caps for the event.

After their Thursday night training session, the players sat down with Brett Tannahill from BT Coaching. Brett spoke with these young men to create awareness for the impact of domestic violence, and through sharing stories developed their understanding of how widespread domestic violence is in our society. Participants from the workshop left with knowledge of how they can individually contribute to reducing the devastating impact of domestic violence on communities and society.
